Feel like giving up already but determined to lose 18lbs before my 50th birthday this year.

Don't give up!! As disappointed as you may be, keep going. Have you used the daily diary posts on here? they are in the pinned posts sections of the forum, I'm sure someone from TeamAdmin will point you in the right direction.

The daily diary really helps as you post what you're planning on eating and you get suggestions and support ( you also get to pinch peoples menus!!)

I may sound silly, but have you eaten enough? What plan are you doing? Lots of people are doing various different plans, but we all support each other.

The best of luck, keep at it and the weight will soon start to drop 🙂

Keep at it and don’t get disheartened, you’ve started and that’s the main thing.I had the same thing my first week.

Stick at it, I have had the same on my first weigh after feeling I had done really well. Important to weigh at the same time each time as that does make a difference though.

Good luck 👍

Hey Hidden don't beat yourself up,these things happen, remember to take body measurements as although you didn't loose any pounds you might have lost inches, you will get there i believe in you, whenever you think about giving up just try and remember why you started and what it would mean to you to get to your target weight, slowly wins the race, are you planning your meals?- i find this helps and remember that you can always come here for support and to ask questions so we can all help each other, have a good day and remember i am just a message away if you need a chat 😊

Hi and welcome, Tea_no_sugar :)

Maybe your idea of healthy eating needs to be looked at. As we age, our ability to process carbs can deteriorate and reducing them can assist with weight loss. Have a look at these healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and healthunlocked.com/api/redi...

All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

If you haven't already taken it, here's a tour of the forum healthunlocked.com/?tour=true

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

Sending you a virtual hug 🤗 try and more week (and then one more, and then one more and so on). If not for the weight loss, although I don’t doubt it would shift - eating healthier has all the other benefits too!

Thankyou all so much for your lovely messages, I feel so much better than I did this morning, it's so nice to belong to a group with such caring people in it 🤗🤗

I'm going to look at all the really helpful advice I've been so kindly given and keep at it, once again thankyou xxx

Its not for everyone but have you looked at trying a low carb high fat diet. I tried calorie controlled and it didnt work for me as lchf does

Just done my first run of the couch to 5 it nearly killed me but I did it!

The same as you I am 50 this year and need to get a grip on it, though i’m a few pounds heavier than you. I also found that cutting things out had no affect and made me feel fed up and give up, so here I am back with gusto to keep going, If they all can and I can you can do it!

Hello and welcome, Cake-eater 😊

This is a great place for information and support, so make the most of it.

You'll find all the information you need about the forum in our Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... including a Welcome message, the Daily Diary and the current weigh in: a good place to start is by joining a weekly weigh in on the day of your choice, and using the Daily Diary, where members share their meal plans.

Take your time exploring. This gives you a tour of the forum healthunlocked.com/?tour=true and, along with Pinned Posts, will show you how things work.

I hope you'll become an active member and we will see you joining in around the forum 😊
