So I've seen lots of DD with avocado ๐ฅ and it's something I've never used myself, I love guacamole so I thought I would give it a whirl, I mashed it and added salt, pepper and flaked chilli ๐ถ I used a brown barm and topped it with a poached egg ๐

First attempt of using an avocado ๐ฅ
I'll be honest,I tried it and it went straight in the bin๐๐ I've since been reliably informed by my daughter that I had to do some thing else with it and not to eat it on its own. I shall give it another go๐
Was it ripe? Unripened ones are hard and tasteless. Ripened ones are lovely on their own (to me anyway). Over ripe are just noooooo. Not to be eaten straight out of the fridge either, like tomatoes, it just kills any flavour - warm room temp is best. They are supposedly ripe when there is a bit of give when you caress it ๐ฎ and the stalk nub comes off easily.
It sounds lovely ๐ I hope you enjoyed it. I use avocado all the time. Usually mashed with cream cheese and soy sauce or with cream, celery salt and spring onions. Gorgeous ๐
Awe that looks lovely, I adore avocado, did you enjoy it? I'll pop this in the Larder! x
Ye it was really nice, but I had to heat it up asbit was a bit cold with the egg and toast xx
Yum.. I love avocado.. Looks like a great first attempt..
Did you enjoy? ๐
I sure did xx it was very nice xx
Hi blinding lights and I'm an avocado addict ๐คฃ They have to be ripe though - there's nothing worse than slicing one open and it's hard or else all blackened ๐
Ps how did your results go btw? I was wondering how you got on x
The one was very ripe, and very easy to mash ๐
Arhh thanks for asking, CT scan showed there is nothing wrong with my kidneys, splean , or bowel, which is great, I have cysts on my liver but he said they are nothing to worry about and will probably never cause me a problem, so his diagnosis is machanical muscular, which basically means my muscles in my lower back go into spasm when I'm at rest, caused by arthritus, he has referred me to physio, so all in all a good result. Nothing sinister, I'm happy about that ๐
Hiya and good news that your results didn't show up anything sinister - big relief for you. But it doesn't mean the pain goes away...
Have you ever heard of Amatsu (I hadn't beforehand, I read an article in a magazine after I'd exhausted all sorts of physio, painkillers, exercises etc for an excruciatingly painful and debilitating frozen shoulder - I'd fallen down the gap at the tube station). Anyway, Amatsu is a form of Massage that has been used for thousands of years in Japan. It's based on ancient principles of natural movement and can be used to help many musculoskeletal-skeletal and lifestyle conditions, as well as supporting well-being. I was pretty sceptical that anything could sort me out, but Amatsu did, in about 6 sessions. I definitely recommend you looking into it. I still go for a monthly 'maintenance' session, even though I've pretty much regained all the movement back in my shoulder now.
Worth a try...?
That is my idea of heaven! I'd replace the bap with bacon but otherwise I could eat that all day! Definitely room temperature, a little give when you squeeze - salad not a salad without avocado!!
