Just came across this and thought it seems like a perfect solution for what seems to me like an unsolvable mystery to find a style of eating that I can maintain.
Only time will tell but found this interesting so thought I'd share with you lovely people
I have gone from obese (last October) to normal BMI using IF and LCHF.
I did the quiz. It recommended IF (though not my IF, but still) 55%, and high protein low GI 45%. As LCHF isn't one of the options, that seems a pretty good assessment if I had followed it 6 months ago. Probably not perfect, but my diet isn't an option!
For me it was the whirlwind of not knowing which was the right option for me as there's so many different types of diets.. But this really gave me some clarity.
It sounds like the previous advice you had is very similar to the options the quiz suggested..
And yeah an unhealthy diet isn't good for any of us 😊
I kind of stumbled on to it. I started calorie counting, and found it very onerous and time consuming and I was hungry most of the time, yet over 3 weeks I did not lose any weight. I realise that if it took this much effort to maintain, and more to lose I was going to fail. I sought advice and got told a lot of rubbish. I knew I had to find something else, and I had heard about 5:2, that lead me to Fast800 which worked brilliantly for me and gradually moved to a more liveable version.
I didn't even get disheartened by a 6 week weight loss stall (though a bit frustrated) because the diet was so easy to follow that I didn't feel "all that hard work for nothing" because it isn't hard work.
It's nice to hear your success story and that you've found what works for you. I'm going to check out that fast800 because that sounds like it could be what's right for me too.
Hi MTM - thanks really interesting, I came out as an IF so will give it a go certainly at times when I seem to get stuck at the same weight for a few wks. Will watch the tv prog too.
Hiya, you're welcome ☺️ I'm glad you found it interesting.. Me too.
I just watched the videos yesterday and although I didn't get anything definitive from watching them, it was definitely interesting to watch and gave plenty of good tips and insights.
