Evening all. Hope your journey is going well.

Routines have really helped me to stay in a healthy frame of mind and keep going through the cravings and helped me into staying strong. How about you?

Same here ...... trouble is though.....once out of routine it goes a bit wobbly..... ie dinner at daughters.....not too bad but overdone it and weekend bowling with grandkids with a pizza restaurant visit will tip it all up as well but we decided to join in, try go for the healthy evils and get back to routine next days😇 will think about the AI holiday in March plan nearer the time 😱🙄

Hi Lilly,

Seems like you stuck to the routine of THINKING healthily even when you were out. So as much as you think it wobbled, it really didn't! Well done on picking healthy evils (love that phrase!)

Stay strong!

Yes I agree routine does seem to help but life also hinders that for me.

As soon as I’m busy at work I don’t get time to eat properly so end up hungry for snacks. Not good. And cooking for the rest of my family who want other foods and I keep trying to stick to what I need to eat can be difficult but also feels rewarding when I manage it. 😀

It’s really hard to keep in line with what you want to do sometimes isn’t it but I’m trying to keep positive and not let one crappy day ruin the rest. 🤪👍🏻

Hi KT2345,

Keeping a healthy routine when others aren't is immensely hard, so if you're doing that and mainly sticking to it, I have massive respect for you. Your will power must be great. I always love moderation, so I never stop myself eating anything I want, I simply make sure I don't eat real junk often.

As a teacher also with 4 kids, I know how hard it is for you. But you can do it. We all have crap days, but that's ok. As lo g as we learn from it and try not to make the same mistakes (I normally make new ones) then it's ok. As long as we stick or go back to trying again, thats ok.

Keep going, you're doing brilliantly. I shall follow your journey with interest.

Stay strong.

I really enjoy reading your blog and have a lot of empathy for your struggles Wordsworth2. You are doing well to stick with it and not lose heart if there are little deviations from your plan 😊My routines revolve around ordering groceries online which reduces temptation, not buying the things I’m trying to leave behind (bags of crisps, chocolate etc), always planning my lunch ahead of time and build in some allowable treats (like goats milk or some nuts). Reading HU posts also keep me going 👍

Hi Sheperdess,

Thanks for reading the blog and I hope it's also helping you to get through your struggles also, knowing that others like you are going through the same stuff. I've tried online ordering, but I actually like going shopping. I always have a list and generally stick to it, although occasionally I do deviate but it's only to buy mainly healthy things. I often have a pint of water before I go shopping also, to fill my stomach so I am not tempted to but junk. I look forward to your posts and thank you for your support.

Stay strong! Stay honest.
