Anyone got any tips for staying positive and on track on those days that you feel really negative, worn out, anxious or depressed?

Thanks

If I was you, Babysteps2020, I'd join HealthyTanja's Happiness Celebration. You'll find it in Pinned Posts and a new thread is posted daily.

I was just going to suggest the same - Tanja's posted a "happiness" calendar at the top of the page & I've been following the daily suggestions. I really look forward to reading the posts from others as well as writing my own. 🙂

Do not try to lose weight too quickly.

Have some low-carb, High-fat snacks available.

Go for a walk.

If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.

Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:

For me keeping a 'victory log' has been super helpful. Grab a notebook/piece of paper and everyday write at least 1 good thing you've done each day. They don't have to be big, it can be literally anything you want just something that feels like a victory on that particular day. When I first started, at my therapist's suggestion, mine were often stuff like 'I got out of bed today' or 'I took a shower'. Now I've been doing it consistently for a couple of years and I have this really amazing log to look through on wobbly days to remind myself what I've already accomplished. Plus it's always a boost to my self-esteem to write down my victory even if it's something I consider small like packing my work uniform the night before rather than when I get up in the morning.

A walk. When I was in a dark place a few years ago & had to wait a few days or even hours to see my counsellor, he advised me to take a walk.
