I am 3 stone overweight and have tried lots of diets over the last 10 years, but nothing seems to have worked well for me. I do need to change my eating habits, I am trying to eat less and eat slower and less sugar

As a yoyo dieter, you may want to consider a complete change and these may help healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... which is supported by this phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...

Morning!

Me too!

I’m trying calorie counting and writing EVERYTHING down, like EVERYTHING!!!

The other main thing is reducing the bread rice pasta and increasing veg fruit

I’ve almost illuminated junk food and no joke o feel so much better for it.... my diet before was mainly junk food.

I’ve cut down lattes but still have 1 or 2

I take fruit in my bag to have just before or after I meet my friends for coffee and have stopped food at the coffee shop.

I walk to shops rather than drive.

I’m currently losing about a lb a week and it feels good.

Good luck!! :)

I’ve started eating porridge for breakfast which really fills me up. I usually have 2 eggs on one whole meal slice of toast for lunch. I try to walk 10,000 steps a day but don’t always achieve it. I don’t usually finish work til late so have my evening meal late

Get plenty of fruit & veg in so your body gets what it needs

Try switching your lunch up so you can include healthy foods.

Ditch any junk food you have laying around.

Maybe go for a walk at lunchtime doesn’t have to be long if you are limited for time

Hi, HelenD123 , welcome.

Weight loss is not all about motivation and masochism - if you "slim smart" it is not so hard!

Many of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:

Hi,

I have recently dropped 30Lbs going from 228Lbs down to 198Lbs (Male) this may or may not work for you but i searched the internet and youtube alot and found that the best thing to do is experiment - i lost the weight by finding my TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) - you can find calculators that can help you find out how much you can eat to lose/maintain or increase your weight - from there i found youtube videos of a Man called Mark Sisson who explained about Keto/primal eating - from here i kind of adapted my eating around some of his principals of the amount we should eat and not eat (he has alot of good recipes - check them out) which has landed me eating less carbs more good fats moderate amount of protein - this is also paired with Fasting everyday not eating from 19:00 at night to 14:00 the next day which leaves me five hours to eat two wholesome meals. You may want to get acustomed to counting your Macros - less carbs is usually the best way to start with dropping Fat fast

there is so many different ways to lose weight - i suggest you experiment and do something that you feel will make you the most happiest doing as going on any diet can make you feel crappy and unmotivated - its just finding the right mix of things- adding in some exercise like Zumba or something that makes you happy or laugh is always a good place to start - Gyms can make you get unmotivated doing the same thing week in week out so always best doing a sport or some sort of exercise you can enjoy to keep you hooked into moving more :) im no way an expert but is always best to experiment untill you find what is right for you.

I hope this helps :)
