I'm new to the forum, came across it by chance , just wanted to see if anyone like me here and if any advice can be given!
I've gained 2 stone in less than a year , I suffer from stress and anxiety and eating is someone giving me a hug !
I live with my partner who does all the cooking , hes slim and can appear to eat high fat/ sugary foods without noticeable weight gain .
I have just become self employed, my hours are irregular, I hardly eat during the day , but once I'm home I cannot stop until I go to bed !
Im 6ft tall, weight 14stone 10 and want to get down till 12 stone , my knees and hips are suffering , my confidence is shot to pieces and to be honest I dont know where to begin.
Although my partners great , hes totally no support whatsoever to me as far as losing weight is concerned as hes heard me moan and not do anything about it for so long now !
If anyone can help me along here it would be great to hear from you.

It sounds as though you'll need to take back some control of what you're eating. If your partner is cooking in the evenings, that's great: you can let him know what you do and don't want to eat, and I'm sure there'll be plenty of overlap with his choices. During the day, it will be your choice.
Here are a couple of things to read that could point you in a new direction. I would say don't be afraid of healthy fats such as butter and olive oil for cooking, dairy, avocado, eggs: they'll keep you feeling full and less inclined to non-stop nibbling.
This is a busy place with lots for you to join in as you'll see here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... I recommend joining a weigh in and using the Daily Diary. I've tagged you in the Welcome Newbie post so pop over there and you'll see how the forum is organised and how to find your way around.
Weight loss is not all about motivation and masochism - if you "slim smart" it is not so hard!
Many of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
Sorry to hear you are having a tough time. Have you sought medical help with your mental health problems? I have had times with anxiety and talking therapy and medication have helped put me straight. Wishing you all the best.
Hi, I have just joined. I can relate to what you are saying here. I'm not as tall as you and am 12 stone when I should be no more than 10. Eating too much in the evening and having a very slim partner who does a lot of fitness and can eat more is also a issue for me. I hope you can get motivated to 'look after yourself'.
