Hi, Bluelady-sing

I eat full-fat live yoghurt for several reasons:

When I got to my target weight - I needed to eat more calories to maintain my target weight, and yoghurt adds calories, protein and fat.

I eat live yoghurt for the benefit of my microbiome (particularly beneficial after a fast).

If you are already eating enough calories to maintain your weight (Basal Metabolic Rate) adding yoghurt would not help - but we need energy, preferably in the form of fat, and yoghurt is a good source.

Finding Full fat anything is so hard. I'm not a yogurt lover, having binged on it when I did slimming world. Going along the chillers is so depressing I gave up.

Do you make your own yogurt?

I am not sure how "live" are the yogurts in the super market.

I also looked the Icelandic yogurt - Skyr - all of it seems to be low fat or flavoured.

Full-fat yoghurt is good stuff (as long as you're not dairy-intolerant, obviously). A couple of spoonfuls of Greek yoghurt, perhaps with a few berries or some nuts and honey (a little bit of honey!) is a great way to start the day if you're not keen on big breakfasts.

Avoid the low-fat products. They're mostly full of chemicals and sugar. Some of them don't even contain any actual yoghurt.

Just bear in mind that yoghurt isn't going to miraculously help you lose weight if the rest of your diet is wrong.
