It's all really personal preference, but you should weigh at the same time of day an on the same scale when you do. I like to weigh every day first thing in the morning; therefore it is easiest to do it on my home digital scale. But weighing once a week is also a common practice.
I think Maria527 has hit the nail on the head, it's all down to personal preference and convenience. Unless you're very brave, weighing at the gym would be done wearing clothes, without the privacy afforded stepping on the scales at home. At home, you can weigh at the same place, same time, au naturel, before food/drink/showering and after going to the toilet. An inexpensive set of digital scales will serve the purpose adequately.

I weigh myself most days - on scales I have had for about half a century.
Weighing yourself every day is OK as long as you realise there will be variations... and you do not get obsessive about it... I keep to my weight-loss strategy until I am at my target weight (for the week).
Digital scales might be more consistent - and they can transfer data to your phone and update your diary.
I agree with everyone, its personal choice where and when. I get weighed at home once a week on a sunday morning when I get up. yes after a wee, lol. before a cuppa tea, lol. I used to jump on every day but for me I found if I lost then id expect a big loss at the end of the week and if id put on it could lead to negative thoughts of id had such a good day, why bother. so do it how and when suits you but best keep it same time, same scales and same clothing. good luck on your weight loss
Thank you all guys and gals 😁 I think Im going to weigh once a week at the same time. Ive got a set of digital scales and have made sure my fitbit is charged! Woop! 😁
