Today i'm cooking 5% fat lean minced beef (sainsburys) with carrot&sweed mash topping then under the grill to crunch up using up mushrooms onions plus having green beans as well, tasty and low fat as i dry fry the meat.. use half, freeze the rest for another day with a baked potato i like the savoury taste.yum ! Oh and add a beef stock cube crumbled into meat.
This recepie is versatile as pasata can be used as an alternative to make spag bol add onions mushrooms and mixed peppers Lower fat content in both dishes..enjoy

It all sounds lovely Tina, but don't be frighted of fattier meat. The fattier the better, it will keep you full for longer and the fat adds to the taste. We have been brainwashed into thinking that we should not have good fats in our diet and it can take a while to re train ourselves.
I have been sat here trying to think of something to cook tonight and you have inspired me to get a pack of mince out and to do a cottage pie with a mashed carrot and swede topping, I have all the ingredients in, so no shopping required. I love a meal that I can then also freeze down for another day
