Hi and welcome, MMB77 :)

Hi MMB and welcome.

I hope you can find the time to read the info moreless has linked you as are likely to find it a bit on eye opener.

Losing weight shouldn't be torture when we don't make it a race. Starving is not the way forward here but eating the right things, reducing the bad things whilst eating sensible portions.

If you use the NHS BMI calculator it will give you a range of calories tailored just for you...

Good luck!

We all have to make changes if we want to get a different result. How important is losing that 10kg to you and are you willing to try new foods and recipes? You never know, you may enjoy them :)

I too was eating a lot of carbs when I started off but even reducing to moderate levels has significantly reduced my cravings and am much less hungry.

Maybe try starting off by having one low carb meal per day. If you tend to fancy sweets in the evening, maybe try having this as your evening meal and see if it eases off your cravings. No clue if there is any evidence that this approach works but could be a starting point?

A dietitian friend of mine also suggested just making some swaps when trying to reduce carb intake-medium or thin sliced whole meal bread rather than thick, a small jacket potato, cutting back the portion size of pasta, and then eating with protein to slow the carb absorption

Good luck!

It very much makes sense what you say.

Little changes, one at a time.

And learning a lot along the way.

You seem to do it great!

Thanks Elisabeth3, gradual steps definitely work best for me-I think it makes for more sustainable change. It’s all a matter of working out what the best strategy is for us individually. All a work in progress-got a long way to go...

Yes, this again makes sense.

What you are saying is actually quite a professional opinion.

Wish you a great result on your weight management journey.

There are some great tips here..... tweaklets.com that don't need you to completely change what you eat but help to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

You seem very keen to promote this site. Do you have any commercial interest in it?

You've given several replies, all more or less the same, so I'm unsure that you are here to lose weight, and that's what the forum is for.

Surely helping others Is the what the Forum is for? Are you suggesting something else. Please be clear.

I wasn't suggesting, I was asking whether you had a commercial interest in the blog and YouTube you have been promoting
