Have you seen the Couch to 5k forum ? They may have more helpful suggestions 😊 healthunlocked.com/couchto5k
Definitely check out the Couch to 5k forum. Also check with your doctor to make sure you are fit enough.
My quick thoughts: you can’t “train” for a 5k in 2 weeks. Training first breaks down your muscles, and there is not enough time for your body to recover to be ready for the race. So your body is ready to do it already or it is not. If your body is ready, my recommendation is spending some days over the next two weeks walking, so you are getting used to covering miles but you’re not breaking down your muscles (which won’t recover by your 5k day). I would walk every other day for 2 miles. Stop any walks two days before your event to store up as much energy as possible. On the day, don’t start out too fast... start at the back, many people will slow down after the first half mile. Don’t wear yourself out starting out fast. Think “slow” in the beginning, and if you have energy later, you can run harder then. Be ready to do a run-walk cycle (3 minutes running, 1 minute walking, etc.) that will get you through the event better than running to exhaustion. If you are walking 2 miles earlier in the week, you will definitely be able to walk/run the 5k in the excitement of the day.
But seriously think of targeting an event farther away... you will enjoy it more!
You won’t be able to run it all with just 2 weeks to go. But still take part and enjoy the event. Run and walk it. Run at a nice steady pace, take your time, and when you feel tired take a walking break. Enjoy and don’t try to do too much. It usually takes about 10 weeks of training before a person can run 5K.
