39yr old mam of 2 searching for her motivation πŸ‘€πŸ”Ž

β€’10 Replies

I have tried many times to get healthy and lose weight but I can't seem to stick to it. I have 2 beautiful children a 15yr old son and a 1yr old daughter πŸ’– and a very supportive husband. I used to do 3 exercise classes a week but had to stop when I was pregnant. Its been almost 2 yrs since I did any real exercise and im desperate to get back to doing something. I want to be healthy for them and myself (medical problems) but I can't seem to find my mojo. I'm good at starting but loose motivation after a while. Any help/advice/support would be much appreciated πŸ‘πŸ‘

Hi, Hidden , Welcome.

Is your son also supportive?

Can you put him in charge of e.g. preventing you eating in the evenings?

If he is fitter than you, he can push the buggy and take you out for walks... or runs?

in reply to S11m

He's a typical teenager in regards to his fitness spends lots of his evenings in front of his computer but we are starting to get out on our bikes as a family now the weather is a bit better. He's about to start his gcse exams in the next couple of weeks so he's got a lot of stress going.

Hi ShellBob1701 - your post title made me laugh :-) I'm also trying to lose some mumtum. My tip would be to start with some small changes and try to get into the habit of them. Maybe go and find an exercise class you really like and commit to it for a few weeks while you get back into the swing of things (get hubby and son to commit to bubba-care while you do that). It might also feel like a bit of an indulgence of you time (ooh that bit at the end when you get to lie down (sorry, stretch!) and no-ones jumping on your head - bliss!!). Good luck.

Nighttime is a hard one in our house as I'm still breastfeeding my daughter I need to be there for bedtime but I only work 3 days a week so I'm planning on putting lots of walking in on my days off. I'm going to try and do some yoga after she's gone down to sleep. We have also started cycling which I'm enjoying so that's something we can do as a family.
