Just reading a few posts, what has amazed me is that it seems many of you get by on 50g carbs a day or have just a brunch and a dinner.
I have 3 meals and also snack when i need to. I do have an active job - in childcare so always have breakfast at 6.45 to set me up for the morning with half hour Lunch break at 11.30, snack when i need an energy boost! And dinner when i get home at 6.30pm. Then sometimes if watching tv il have a light snack like yoghurt (Skyr) and mix berries in if not had enough of 5 a day at 9pm.
But how do you get through your day on two meals/low carbs without feeling the hunger pangs?

By increasing healthy fats. They keep you feeling full, whereas carbs soon leave you wanting more. There's more information here dietdoctor.com/low-carb

It's a pretty natural reaction to think that, if you take the potatoes or rice or whatnot off your plate, it's going to leave a massive empty space. What on earth do you put there instead?
The answer is "anything except bread or potatoes or rice or pasta". Vegetables. Meat. Eggs. Food, basically. It's up to you. Most people go with non-starchy vegetables because they're cheap and filling, although some people with more carnivorous tastes go with extra meat. Your body will tell you what's right, if you listen to it.
As long as you don't avoid fat, you'll generally get enough energy to power you through the day (remember, fat is very energy-dense, so a little goes a long way). Conversely, if you substitute natural, fat-containing products with processed, low-fat non-foods, your body finds that there's literally nothing in your meals that it can use for fuel, and that's bad news!
It's a common myth that your body runs better on carbs than fat. This simply isn't true. Last month we were doing some construction on the farm, which involved moving and mixing several tonnes of soil, cement, aggregate and the like. There were two of us, 30'C in the shade, doing this by hand (buckets and shovels). I was still eating two meals a day. Most of what I ate was fatty meat and veg. The main difference, I noticed, was that I craved salt (which I solved with beef soup) and I slept for about 10 hours a night. Didn't have any "energy dips" - in fact I just took a coffee break at lunchtime and did some odd jobs until my carb-fuelled assistant got back.
Presumably you are here because you want to lose weight?
The answer is in your name - burn fat.
The problem is - how to get your body into fat-burn mode.
Start by cutting out the snacks and not eating after dinner.
It will take motivation, discipline - and perhaps a little masochism... but eating enough good food at mealtimes, including fat, will decrease the hunger and the "need" for snacks.
A low carb high fat diet, correctly followed suppresses appetite in 2 ways, it restores your CCK levels back to pre-dieting levels (so you stop eating after a meal and don't feel ravenous soon after).
LCHF also suppresses ghrelin, the hunger hormone, which is usually the trigger to eat after sleeping the whole night or at a normal interval to a next meal.
Because the LCHFers amongst us are not fighting against these powerful chemicals, it is easier to eat less often and feel full and satisfied.
