Saying goodbye to my weight and Hello to a healthy life

So, after years of struggling with self image and weight gain, I have started my journey to a healthier and happier life. I have no will power when it comes to sweet treats and my work place likes to bake cake every week... So this is going to be difficult! I'm looking forward to loving myself again and hope to support anyone else who is on the same pathway. I am open to any suggestions on how to beat my sweet tooth into submission...

Good morning, Luna_2019, and welcome to the forum 😊

About the sweet tooth/willpower thing: sweet stuff, and carbohydrates generally, work on your body making it demand more and more so it's not so much about willpower, you're battling against physiology. I'd suggest you think about what you eat, as well as how much. This is a useful guide phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...

About the weekly cake: nothing wrong with having a cake every week: I'm in a choir and there's a cake stall fundraiser each week: there are some great bakers and I always have one but I don't have any biscuits or cakes in the house the rest of the week.

HI Luna_2019

Welcome to the group. I’m new too but this is a really nice group with very supportive people.

I have a problem with willpower as well. If it’s there, it will be eaten.

I think what is helping me is changing my mind set. I use EFT for that. If you look up Jessica Ortner you’ll find lots of information.

Secondly, I found a calorie counter I like. Loose It. It’s user friendly.

You really have to find something that works for you. For example I mix a little 16:9 fasting in it too but instead of having nothing in the morning I make myself a green smoothie (kale, cucumber, celery, green apple, frozen mango, parsley and mint). I drink this until lunch time slowly. It keeps me going. I don’t know if it still counts as fasting but it reduces my calorie intake and accommodate anything else I might eat.

Most importantly, understand your self and where you are. Acceptance is important because than you can deal with all your short comings.

Good luck and be happy 🧿

Hi, Luna_2019 , Welcome.

Do you just snack all day, or in the evening as well?

You should try to eat enough (sustaining fat) at mealtimes to reduce the "need" to snack, and set yourself a time in the evenings after which you do not eat.

Not what you're looking for?
