Doing Slimming World & trying to get fitter!

Hi, I’m 22 & I’ve been doing slimming world since the end of last summer. Hit a bit of a stalemate over Christmas (surprise surprise) and decided to take up the C25K programme which has helped me lose 4lb last week. Even more surprising is that I’ve actually been enjoying it.

So far I’ve lost 2st 4lb but I get married in July and my Ideal target weight is still another 4st away - so looking for any tips others might have to keep motivated?

I have the Map My Run app (and MM Cycle) which I use on my runs to see my progress - has anyone else found those apps helpful?

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum Pb96 😊

My hubby has used MapMyWalk which he likes, thinks it uses Garmin Users regular routes? Anything that helps exercise is good 😊

If you haven’t already, then please read the Welcome post here which has lots of useful information about all the things we have on offer healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

The best advice I can give is have enough to eat. If you are following the NHS 12 Week plan then the 1400/1900 calorie target suggested is a just generic amount, please check your own personal calorie target using the BMI checker, it’s often higher than you think. We always advise starting towards the top of the range, being hungry is the biggest cause of weight loss failure

I recommend coming onto the forum regularly, daily if you can, reading posts and replying to others. Being part of a community is proven to help weight loss. Follow this link to our chat thread and a list of all the activities we run. We've found active participation to be key to success, especially with our weigh-ins and Daily Diary healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

For your own privacy and safety online we suggest that you lock your posts by selecting ‘members of my community’ when you write a new post. Please read our security post here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... especially as your post isn’t locked

Best wishes and have a good first week

Indigo 😊

I like Nike run club, and Samsung health. Running is great, keep going :)

Also have a look at your diet, is there any other easy change you can make which would help you with your goals?

Thanks - I’ll try those out 🙂 I’ve had a massive overhaul - no sugary drinks (used to drink 3-5 full fat cokes every day 🤢), my diet is mostly fresh fruit, veg & proteins - I balance it well with a daily allowance of dairy and carbs it’s just trying to stick to it.

My 4lb loss last week was the first decent loss I’ve had in over 2 months so I’m happy with that. I’m back on track but trying to keep motivated so it stays that way! I track my weight loss on a graph I have so being able to visualise my progress has been really helpful too.

Going for another run tonight; got into a routine with it now so hoping I keep it up!
