A small thing..

But significant. Went out for my birthday dinner last night and when asked whether I wanted a small or large glass of wine, guess which word I heard myself saying? It surprised even me as I have never knowingly ordered a small glass of wine in my life. Guess the birthday has added more than a year to my age: it's added a whole new state of mind.

We're never too old to learn, Autumnleaving. Belated birthday wishes :)

Many thanks moreless - it's an exciting time of year to feel different, saving me the awfulness of New Year Resolutions (at least ones focusing on food and drink - there are loads more, of course!)

Thank you BridgeGirl - as you admins always have said, it's about so much more than the number on the scales. For me, it's working out what it is I want to be, not what others think I should be, which has made the difference after 40 years!!!!

How fantastic......I haven’t been able to get there this year.....here’s hoping I can get to where you are next year 🙂

If you want to, for your own sake, then you will, H61g - that sounds simplistic but it was only when I twigged that I hadn't actually figured out what I wanted but had been angry (for years!) about needing to lose weight to please others that it began to fall into place.

I am not going fast but am going in the right direction and feel so much better and happier.

Congratulations and happy birthday. X

A new mindset has got to be the best birthday present you could have given yourself. Hope you had a good birthday and enjoy the coming year. Your words to H61g are so true we need to do this for ourselves not anyone else.
