Should I weigh myself every week or should I join a club
Weigh myself weekly : Should I weigh... - Weight Loss Support
Weigh myself weekly
Don't do either.
Weighing yourself isn't going to make you lose weight any faster, so why bother? If you get your diet right, you will lose weight at a rate your body chooses, and there's not much you can do to alter that. If you want to check your progress, just look in the mirror.
Diet clubs, like any other business, exist to make money, so it's in their interests to not solve your problem. Learning to cook and eat proper food is something you have to do by yourself, so there's nothing they can add to the process even in theory.
Although there is a psychological aspect - in that you are more likely to stick to a public commitment - most of the clubs give out very bad advice that's hard to stick to and doesn't even work. So you'll struggle and struggle, trying to meet your promises to your fellow club members, and then feel awful when you inevitably fail.
You are a member of this club Butterlady7 and in my opinion it is much better than any other and costs nothing. If you choose to weigh yourself that will be your decision. If you do, it may be helpful to join one of the weigh day groups (fridays was mine while I was actively losing weight). You will find other people who will understand and help if you are having problems achieving your weight goals. It is also anonymous and there is no ‘body shaming’. I am assuming you have been given all the Newbie information from one of the admins as things may have changed since you were last here. Good luck X
Hi Butterlady7 as NannyEJ wrote this is the best club because there is so much encouragement and support here to help you on your weight loss journey. And its your choice whether you join a weigh day here or not. I am in Wednesday and find that its really helpful for me and the support is wonderful. All of us are here for the same reason to eat better, loss weight and feel good about ourselves and we all encourage each other in those goals as well as for many other things. Hope you will join us on our journeys too
Hi, Butterlady7
Weighing yourself does no harm... just do not get obsessive about it.
I will not get much sympathy for mentioning it, but I tend not to feel hunger, and I can get hypoglycaemic without feeling hungry... so I weigh myself frequently and only stick to my diet rules until I am down to my target weight for the week.
Have you tried the NHS weight-loss plan?
What went wrong last time you tried to lose weight?
*The diet worked but you got bored of counting calories?
*The diet worked but you lacked the self-discipline and motivation to stick to it?
*You stuck to the diet but you did not lose weight?
*Can anyone think of any other "failure modes"
As you have a "restart" badge, I assume you cannot lose weight just by eating less - but you might find that not eating in the evenings (or mornings) could make a major difference.
Those clubs are really expensive...and sell junk food.
Get your head straight and use here....🌈🌈🌈☂️
