Hi SarahJane, there are different possible places, you can enter your plan eg for tomorrow to the forum daily diary. Or you can enter your food into into an app/ website like MyFitnessPal. I’m sure a forum moderater will be along soon to give more e guidance. You can also just log it on paper, as you prefer. The benefit of MyFitnessPal is it remembers meals you had recently, plus with a smartphone you can scan in barcodes of items you bought from supermarket.
If you're talking about the HU App, it is still in development and doesn't yet give access to most of the important areas of the forum, so we advise that you use the full website page.
A lot of people use MyFitnessPal to log their meals and exercise. Just don't follow the calorie target they give you, use the one you'll get from the NHS BMI calculator.
I used a notebook when I started and built up a list of calories in the foods I ate regularly
