I weigh myself every day at 9:00am using my Renfos scales. These are linked to my mobile phone and iPad by Bluetooth and the weight and body composition is automatically loaded on to apps (Apple Heath; Fitbit; MyFitnessFriend; and Record). Rather than just comparing one trading taken once a week I use the average weight for the week to monitor change in weight. I find this more reliable and accurate than just comparing one reading taken each week. Daily weights can vary so much - eg going out for a meal and celebration can add as much as 2 lb to a daily reading. By comparing the weeks average evens out the daily variations and gives a more accurate indication of trends.
What to others think is the best way to monitor weight?

I weigh myself every morning around 8am and log it using my fitbit
I have also seen my weight go up and down by 2 or 3 pounds during the week
For me...that's a big improvement from last year when I was losing or gaining 7-10 lbs overnight due to fluctuations in my fluid balance due to heart failure,
I weigh myself most days, using decades-old Seca scales, and I eat more if I am below my target weight for the week. I enter the weight into "Weight Diary" once a week, and the data is then used by Apple Health etc.
Does anyone else use StepsApp, which gives summaries on an iPhone, and can be used on an Apple Watch 4 for walk Workouts?
My trusty old old scales would qualify to be called vintage or retro! They are only marked up in 2lb intervals. I think I would enjoy knowing what my body composition was, but on the other hand it can be fun stepping on and off this one at different speeds and angles to see if it makes any difference to the result. My main way of monitoring at the moment is how often I have to hitch my jeggings back up :))
