hi and let me say Welcome to ya! I take it your not from Texas like I am as I had to look up what your weight loss goal was in pounds. lol. anyway, welcome and read the admins post.. looks like you already did. ok so, here is my recommendation as a new starter, again. read and post. if you have some responsibility to what you need to do to be a weight losser it will help in your ultimate goal. I quit posting and reading and that is why I always have to come back to my weight loss goal. I want to lose 100 pounds or about 45 kgs. I do it in increments of 1 or 2 pounds a week and if I make my short term goal, my long term goal of 100 will find itself done eventually. I also recommend making this a way of life whatever you choose to help you lose weight instead of just a diet short term. I think it keeps a maintenance weight is easier that way. so good luck and chin up!
Changes are needed, portion distortion was a big thing for me, when I started to lose weight, I think it’s very common, your palm of your hand is a good measure, check out the info online.
Go to bmi/ activity tool which will help too, then decide what form of diet you wish to use, and work out your calorie allowance should be.
Work out a meal plan from there ( currently I only ever roughly plan, tho have enough in fridge / cupboards/ freezer ) to cook what I want and need.
Prob best if you can to buy up base stuff, such as stock cubes, herbs and base ingredients.
A set of good pref digital scales in good, I personally own cups too the USA type, a measuring jug is handy too.
Good luck
I agree with you Diana, I roughly ever plan except to eat healthier. I have to learn to take my own advice as well as I am starting over new. again. anyway, I fully agree and plan to take into effect your advice. I will be stocking my freezer/ pantry up next week to line up with the many nights I don't care to cook when my hubby is not here. also base ingred. good idea. as far as portion control goes,, that was my downfall for sure. you know everything is bigger in Texas.. especially portions! Olive Garden is not horribly bad but I always look at my plate like "this is all I get?" when I go there. from now on I will be ordering off the healthier menu when I go if at all. thanks for the good advice!
I went out for a meal 2 1/2 half years ago, a 3 course job, when I asked the server were the portions big, he said no, right for a 3 course meal, which they were. Prob right for a 1950s /60s/70s/80s meal.
The thing is we beefed/ supersized stuff and then wonder why we feel cheated with 100 g of meat lots if veg and s few potatoes, the palm of your hand is s good portable measuring guide.
It dies of course take our tummies longer to get used to this
