I love my Sunday roast so decide I would have one today. I looked up the calories as its not so easy to work out. There was conflicting numbers of calories but a few said 850 cals so I've gone with that. It surprised me that some of the roasts had mash potato when I roast mine for Sunday dinner. Well I've eaten it now and it was lovely, i'll just have a snack at tea time. Sorted.
Sunday Roast: I love my Sunday roast so... - Weight Loss Support
Sunday Roast
I’m glad you enjoyed your meal 😊. To be accurate you can weigh all the component parts (I have electronic kitchen scales where I can start with an empty plate and then add the individual items)
Enjoy the rest of your day
Hi, through the week I just cook for myself and weigh my amounts but on Sunday I cook for the family and then my daughter dishes it up so I go with the flow, just tell her not too many potatoes or meat, plenty of veg. So I just wanted an average of a cooked Sunday roast calorie wise.
Hi, redbelle
I have a Sunday roast in the pub most Sundays... and I just opt out of the Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, and new potatoes, and have as many vegetables as I can get on the plate (including parsnips). I usually fast 20/24, so I tend to eat breakfast after 10:00, and, if I have not had a big lunch, I have a fruit snack before 14:00.
I do not count calories - and make up my owns rules, and if I opt for the Age Concern meals for the rest of the week, or the small-plate OAP/child/dieter, I can lose weight. Sorted.
Hi redbelle - I often eat a roast dinner, and as IndigoBlue61 suggests, I weigh out everything (including the apple sauce and gravy granules!) Pork loin chop here today with roast parsnips, cabbage, roast potatoes (175g), carrots, beans, gravy and apple sauce.
