Hi CrazyKaz, I have just replied to your PM, so the first stop for you is the NHS BMI calculator - as I have suggested in the reply
The number on the scales is not always the be all and end all. The Non Scale Victories (NSV'S) can be far more encouraging. Your clothes feeling looser is a good sign that things are changing
I agree with lucigret, you've been using a generic calorie target which suits few of us. The right calorie range for you is likely to be well above that and, once you settle at the right rate, I'm sure you'll start losing again and will feel much more able to stick with it and enjoy it.
If you think about it, it's not likely that one single figure would suit you and a 25 year old with 2 stones to lose and a 40 year old of 5ft 6 with 8 stones to lose. That's why you need a range that relates to your own height, weight, age and activity level.
I'm glade you posted, you're definitely not a failure!! You're still trying and sticking with it. I'm sure you'll find it all more manageable when you're eating enough
Have a look at the Daily Diary and you'll get some ideas on how people are using their calories.
I've just noticed you haven't yet joined a weigh in. They can be a great help and supporting others can give you a boost, too, and you'll know you're not alone. Why not join the wonderfully names Wednesday Wobble Warriors today? healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Hello crazykaz65. The responses to your query have hit the nail on the head. I am the same height as you and was 16st and my nhs bmi calculation came to much more than the generic 1400 cals per day. I have lost almost 1.5st and my calcs are still no where near 1400. 😃 Just as well because I don’t think I could manage that low. Have a good week. 👍
Sometimes your body gets too used to what you are regularly eating, so maybe switch from low fat to low carb, or cut out sugar, or give up alcohol....just a change that will kickstart your metabolism into losing again. Change your exercise from walking to swimming, or add some uphill work, or take up tennis! A few changes will refresh your whole approach to a healthy lifestyle.
