Hello Vibsingh and welcome

There are various reasons why you might be snacking like this, one being habit - in which case, rid the house of chocolates and find something else to do in the evenings, new routines - or it may be because you aren’t eating enough at your meals. Or both 😊

If you are following the NHS 12 week plan, make sure you get your calorie target from the NHS BMI calculator and eat towards the upper end, and you’re unlikely to get hungry.

1. Get rid of all junk food from your house.

2. Replace the chocolates with almonds, raisins etc.

3. Eat light healthy foods, fruits, sprouts etc periodically during the day.

4. Mostly binging in evening happens when you stay hungry during the day.

5. Don't stay hungry.

6. Whenever you feel like eating any junk, have one full glass/cup of water.

7. Stay healthy and active, so some dance to shake off any lethargy.

8. Try these it may work!

Just don't buy it. It can take a bit of adjustment if it is a habit but the more sugar you eat the more the body craves. There is no easy trick find a substitute some grapes or something similar to help the sweet fix.

I agree with others advice, eating plenty of protein at each meal, so your not hungry. I have cup of tea then brush your teeth, to signal no more food in your mind. Good luck, you will get there.

I feel your pain. Night times when my husband is away working are a big risk area for me. I’ve had to rid the cupboards of temptation. But I do need to have some stuff in for the kids sometimes. Like tonight...they’ve got friends over and I have just eaten some haribos. First sweets for weeks 😩 Why do I do this?! It’s nothing to do with hunger so I think just boredom plus weak willpower! So I think get all temptation out of your house and keep busy is the best solution. Good luck! 😀

I’m a bit of an evening snacker and I still do to a certain extent. I was eating crisps and chocolate when I was at my heaviest. We have weight loss programme locally which I attended and I was advised to not stop eating in the evening initially but to replace with lower calorie snacks. I stopped buying chocolate but did eat a bag of low cal crisps every night, replaced the choc with a piece of fruit that was sweet with some yogurt. I found after a few weeks I could cut out the crisps. The gradual approach worked for me. I still have a snack every evening but now eat much less. This is only an idea but it might be worth a try. (I can still over snack occasionally - If I feel myself going back for snacks regularly now I make a cup of peppermint tea!). Good luck....this is a long journey and a case of trying different things to find what works for you.

You could of course bank some cals from the day and use at night, I tend to eat crisps most days, and I could save those for the eve if I wished
