Hi I have joined today to lose weight and get a healthier lifestyle. I hope the forum gives me an incentive and motivation to stay on track. I have never tried following a plan/diet/ exercise regime as I always feel I don't have the will power!

Hello Sallycan11 and welcome to the weight loss forum.

The incentive and motivation will be yours but the forum will certainly help with endless support, encouragement and ideas. To get the most out of it, come here as often as possible, read posts, get involved and encourage others, join in events and challenges - being part of a community can make all the difference.

To start with, you could join the Wednesday Wobble Warriors at their weigh-in healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

If you're following the NHS 12 week plan, please be aware that the 1400 calorie figure is a generic one and suits very few of us. Use the calorie range you'll get from the NHS BMI calculator and start at the upper end, even if you think it looks high. That's the advice from the many successful users here

To help you navigate the forum, we’ve put all the information you’ll need in a Newbie pack. Spend a few minutes reading this as it gives a full picture of the support and information available. Here's the link healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

We ask that you also read this important information about internet privacy and security, especially as you've left your post unlocked and may be using your own name healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Wishing you all the best and hoping to see you around the forum

By the way, it would be interesting to know how you found your way to this forum :)

Hello and welcome Sally 😊

Hi Sallycan11 and welcome,

I'm here, still don't follow a plan / diet / exercise regime and i'm doing ok.

All i do now is plan what i eat, look at what is in what i eat and am mindful about the calories in food. I've learned what is better for me food wise.

I don't see the NHS plan as a diet - just a healthier lifestyle. It's about learning new, healthier habits - not following a regime as such!

If you can see it like that - i think it helps you succeed. Well, it did me so far! :)
