Just joined in the hope to encourage my weightloss....
I have been trying to lose weight for a long long time.....
Am 5ft 3 and weigh 104kg....geez!
Previously years ago lost a hell of alot of weight... But that was I my late teens🙈went down from a size 16 to size 8.. And that was through calorie counting only!!!
Now I do know that after 2 decades it's not going to be easy BUT also know that it isn't impossible.... 🤞🏻
So this is the beginning of a new challenge... And this time it'll WORK.
I plan to healthily get down to 90kg and then will set another target ... So here's to the first countdown of 14 kg battle... I hope there'll be people who will encourage me on my journey and hopefully will be able to inspire a few on the way too.. xx. Will be adding some interesting experiences.. pics... recipes.... etc

Hello can_do_this welcome to the site, someone from admin will be along soon and welcome you properly with all the links you will need to navigate around this site easier.
All I can advise you is to join in as much as you can each day as it will help you keep on track with your new lifestyle of healthy eating.
Like you I’ve failed many times on a diet but this isn’t a diet this is a lifestyle change where I’ve learnt that I can eat healthily and lose weight that I won’t be putting back on like I have in the past.
Everyone on this site are brilliant they are so supportive of everyone helping when help is needed, lifting you up when your feeling down, celebrating with you when something good happens this is what I’ve found and you end up wanting to do the same as you want to give back the same as what you’ve received from them. You’ll be sent a link for a BMI Calculator use it as it will help you to know what your calorie range is.
There are groups that you can join in with things like daily diary where people write down what they are going to be eating the following day, as it helps to stick to a meal plan when you’ve got it wrote down. It’s also a good place to get ideas for meals that you can eat.
Daily weigh-in groups where people tell what they weigh each week with how much they have lost/gained or stayed the same.
I hope I’ve been of some help and once again welcome to the site.
Welcome Can_do_this . Great reply from Budda already.
It's good that you're used to counting calories. If you run the NHS BMI calculator, I think you'll find that for someone with your height and weight that your initial calorie range is going to be around 1700-2200 cals a day...
... and it's suggested that you aim for nearer the top end to start with. There's no rush to lose weight and the more you can eat and still lose weight the less likely you will be to get hungry which after a couple of enthusiastic weeks, generally leads to failure.
As Budda mentioned, use this forum as much as possible and you will find a permanent source of support, information, fun and friends.
