My husband has taken my out to Frankie & Bennys on Sunday. Instead of being excited I was absolutely terrified...After eating healthy and home-made meals all week, I could just see myself happily diving into my old ways and ordering a full on 3 course meal, washed down with 2 pints of cold fizzy lager. As soon as I opened the menu and saw all the heavy pastas and BBQ smothered meat, I was ready to give up and stuff my face, but then I started using my brain again and despite all the temptations, I decided to simply go for a modest starter - caprese (few slices of tomato, mozzarella and some basil), for main I had a thin crust 10 inch chicken pizza (it was the smallest one on the menu) and instead of beer, I had Slimline G&T (x2 lol). My husband had a plateful of cheesy garlic mushrooms for starter, 15 inch pepperoni pizza with extra toppings, side of fries and 2 pints of pale ale. So all in all it was a good visit and I was quite happy with being able to resist the temptation of overeating, unlike my husband

Better choices
Great response to a difficult challenge PirateGirl Hope you enjoyed your choices
Well done PirateGirl
Awww I was at F&B too and was in the same dilemma! You chose well! They used to have cals on their menus and healthy options highlighted but they’ve removed them all?!
Its a great feeling that you made more considered choices. I had a salad side instead of chips.....completely unheard of for me, even my husband queried whether I wanted an extra side but I said no. He had fish and chips which were awful and he said my meal looked loads better-yay! We will get there:)
Yayyyy well done .. it’s just too easy sometimes to be lead into the mindset
“well one cheat meal won’t hurt “ .. I hope you really enjoyed it even more ;0)
I really did enjoy it and I felt even better when I was not too full and my husband was all full and uncomfortable struggling with his last slice. I looked at him and I felt sad for myself because that's what I was like before...just stuffing myself until it was all gone from the plate. I was raised in "don't waste food" family so leaving food or throwing the leftovers away was never an option, but now I'm trying really hard to overcome this habit and decrease my portions.
That's brilliant! I find it very difficult when my husband says to me "have some ribs, you deserve a break" etc. I know he means well, but it's just confusing me. He's like that little devil on my shoulder!
Taking control of yourself and your choices. Well done. Makes me think I’ll do it too. Thank you.
