Hi Smiler58 , turning up to meetings wouldn't have done for me, either, but this is a place I enjoy coming to. Hope you will, too
I've found the 12 week plan helpful - counting calories and using nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Healthyw... to get a personalised calorie range, which may well be more than you expect.
Thanks For the good tips, I've been trying to find my way through all the information, I'll get to grips shortly π
Yes, take your time finding your way around following moreless's link.
I like the weekly weigh-in (posted each day and you choose your day) as you get to be part of a team supporting each other (but no classroom! ). The Daily Diary is great for getting ideas about food and doing your own planning, and there's also a good recipe section Plenty of ideas about exercise, too
I hated slimming groups I tried both slimming world and Weight Watchers. I never walked away from a group inspired which said more about the group leaders than anything. Yet I can come on to this forum and be inspired. I was totally bowled over by the young woman who posted the One year anniversary post yesterday.
Brilliant, wasn't it?
It was amazing I was so touched by it that I passed my tablet to my husband so that he could read it too and he was as impressed as I was
How do I find that post?
Here it is

Thanks for that, wow, amazing how people do this, I work with someone who has lost a similar amount of weight, stories like this make me feel inadequate. I need to follow their lead, huge respect to anyone who loses weight, it is life changing in every way πππ
Don't ever feel inadequate we are all fighting our own battle and yours is just as important to you as mine is to me which is why you're ended up here. Everybody on here will offer advice and support as often as you want or need it. I'm on and off of here all day reading the new posts.
Well said, Justsharon π everyone's battles are important π
As Sharon said, don't feel inadequate, you have your journey to travel, the same as the rest of us, & that's important π everyone is different, and finding what works for you is key to success π
Being here can be a massive help to you, so much support and encouragement, so get involved as much as you can, but don't worry, there's no judgement if you have a bad week, just help to have a better week βΊοΈ
Good luck, hope to see you around π
No you are not inadequate. You will lose weight when you are good and ready and we all lose at different rates as we are all different.
Hi and welcome to the forum
Wishing you all the best on your journey and look forward to chatting with you
Hello and welcome Smiler π

Road to Sucess and Goal! Lots of stories from our members π
My daughter lost 7 stone with WW some years ago but when she hit a 'wall' and started gaining again the support was non existent. She was their poster girl as long as she was losing but when she hit the bad patch, her leader didn't want to know. This forum however will be here for you in success and failure. Keep popping in because no matter how well or badly you're doing ,there will always be a listening ear. Good luck.
