Hello guys, I started my journey last Monday I have been pretty good. I am struggling now cause I am a night worker and I've got cravings (specially for sweets and chocolates). I only work 3 nights a week (12h shift), but I really struggle to keep my food routine. I am awake and eating when I am supposed to be asleep and then I sleep during the day. Do have any advice?
Many thanks

Instead of sweets and chocolate - can you swap to sugar free gum? We all have different weaknesses, but personally I use gum with a strong flavour to get me past awkward craving moments..
There are a number of night workers here and hopefully they may see this. I tried to tag someone in but tagging isn't working. I think each person has their own technique.
Can you make sure that you eat well before your shift starts and ensure that you have a structured meal for lunch.
Take healthy snacks with you and ensure you drink lots of water throughout.
It must be difficult annina, tiredness is a well known trigger for causing sweet cravings.
I would eat towards the top of the target range on work days (nights!) , take plenty of planned meals and snacks, and drink plenty. If I get a strong sweet craving I find a dried fig helps, stewed slowly with a hot drink. About 35 calories each, not too high on calories and full of goodness.
As Tiggerr mentioned there are others who work shifts who may be able to help you, I did a quick search so some of these posts may help healthunlocked.com/search/s...
Hi annina, I work nights and have been following this plan for nearly 3 weeks. I too crave sweet stuff at night. I ate normally through the day keeping to the lower end of my calories then I took a high protein yoghurt to have about midnight, and overnight oats which I had at about 4am. I had 2 rich tea biscuits to nibble on too. I work 7:30pm until 8am. I then get home and go to bed without eating anything. When I get up about 3:30pm I had a small bowl of cereal and then my evening meal as normal. I also drank loads of water to keep me full and his the ward chocolates out of sight!! 😬
