Hi there. I am so new to this. I have over a stone to lose and hope that I can glean some encouragement and tips on this newbe site. I am 62 and I work part time and am on my feet all day for the three days that I do work. You'd think I'd be as thin as a rake eh? But no need to lose some weight to feel at ease and comfortable.. Nice to speak to anyone who wishes to say hello.

Hi Jennwood62 - Hello...
The forum is a great place for encouragement, support, ideas and recipes.
I have found a great way to train me to plan my food in advance with the daily diary in the events every day.. This has really helped me move forward to lose weight.
I am sure you will feel part of the forum family in no time!!
Cheering you on 🎉🎉🎉

Hi Jennwood62
Good luck with your first week. You will find the forum a very friendly and supportive place to lose those extra pounds.
I think you probably meant to post this on the Newbie Club thread, Jenn. If you have to fill out a template, you're starting your own thread, not replying to someone else's.
Scroll through the thread, reading the information and responding to other newbies, then write your post in the last reply box, where it says 'leave a comment ..... '
Welcome Jenn,
When I first joined, I found that replying to others' posts and providing support helped provide me with focus, plus I learnt a lot from reading everyone's replies.
Hi Jenn 👋 welcome to this wonderful forum!
A great starting point is just to write down or record the calories for everything you eat and drink in a day, do this for a week and then you can figure out what easy changes you can make to start with.
Secondly find out what your personal calorie allowance is by using the NHS BMI calculator (nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Healthyw... on the page it displays your BMI score it also tells you what your allowance should be. Start towards the top of the range (you’ll probably be surprised about the number of calories you can eat).
Finally continue to log your calorie intake and try and weigh any portions of carbs as most find they are over estimating a portion size.
Wishing you lots of luck for 2018! 🎉🎊
Thankyou xvanilla skyx for info. Everything is useful. Don't know how most of us would cope without people's help and input. Happy new year to you too
