Exciting changes....

Hello, on 2nd January I am going tho start the 12 week weight loss programme. I am fast approaching 50 and thought now is the time to make some healthy changes. Any advice/support truly welcomed....I well keep posting how I am doing.....

We are all in the same boat on here and I find it helps to just share our experiences as we go along. I use a counting calorie notebook and one or two aps to help calculate my calories. I also bought some accurate kitchen scales to weigh out portions.. I soon realised that my idea of a portion and others' was not the same...

Hi and welcome to the forum Primrose68

well if you are not starting until 2 January that gives you 4 days to get prepared - organise your cupboards and freezer - go through them all and make a list of calories off each packet for a portion i.e. 3 hash browns = *** calories as then it makes grabbing food and cooking and calorie counting so much easier :)

Download a calorie counting app like 'Myfitnesspal' or if you have a fit bit look at logging your food on there etc. Have a play around with those so you have a good idea :)

Have a good look at the information in the link YellowRose55 gave you and that will help you navigate the forum, there is a link to the FAQ's there as well - but if you can't find what you are looking for just ask

Most importantly, don't look at this as a diet but as a new healthier lifestyle and be active on this fantastic forum where you will get loads of support and hope you will support others too :)

Hi there

I signed up with Slimming World 11 weeks ago. I lost 2 stone 6.5 lbs since then. Never had a plus week even over Christmas. Next week is my 12th weigh-in and will be truly gutted if i cant hit that magical 2 1/2 stone next Thursday.

Mind you I did loose another 5 lbs in the two weeks before I joined up.

If I can do it at 69 you can do it at 49. My birthday is in February.

Commitment, SMART Goals and a Positive Mental Attitude PMA will get you there.
