Hi, I'm new here. I am 76 years old and suffering with painful arthritis in one hip so my mobility is restricted. My problem is that although I don't have any weight to lose my (I have skinny arms and legs but a lot of tummy fat) diet is very hit and miss healthywise. I would like some help to improve my diet and I also need to take more regular exercise. I like to walk as much as I can but this can be very painful on some days.

Hi teafan and welcome to the weight loss forum.
I know where your coming from with the painful arthritis and restricted mobility. I have had 2 total knee replacements and lost just over 5 stone and it has helped reduce the pain and increase my mobile alot. For some healthy eating ideas have a look at our Daily Diary in Events.

Good luck with your first week.
Thank you. I'll also have a look at that.
Try a Paelo diet as some foods particularly processed food causes inflammation. Try Pintrest website for recepies. There are some exercises for muskelo skeletal people like us..or Pilates helps too. If you go gym the sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi is good for the bones too. I find sitting in sea salt baths helps too. You can get big bags of Epsom salts online cheaper than shops..or if your near London Vauxhall a,place called floaters is,great..it's lying in a tub of almost 1,00kilos of seas, salt and water..you just float but your bones, feel great after..not sure if there are other branches across the UK. I also find supplements and herbal teas help. Berry tea..and turmeric..capsules or fresh helps.
@Bevoly I have just Google Floaters near London Vauxhall and all I get is the eye probleml. Could you please be more specific as a friend, who has bad arthritis, may well be interested?
Thank you Bevoly . That's quite a lot to take in but a lot of helpful ideas to work with. I do some pilates at home which I find suits me better than trying to get into a class - they are all so booked up here in Kent. And I can skip any exercises that I may find difficult on bad days. I don't know anything about the Paelo diet so I will have a look at that.
