Grapefruit and mandarin recipes?

I got tins to have for dessert, but don't want it to be a chore for the family to eat it.

Hi Bongo4. You could make custard with skimmed milk or unsweetened soya like I use. Or you can get vegan jelly crystals for the kids. Or as a treat,,use alpro cream or normal cream.

Do you need to eat a dessert? Very rarely have desserts in my house.

yes, we do. 5 out of 7 are fruit, which is part of the 5 a day.

Somebody said crush grapefruit and freeze it and serve with basil leaves.

I was going to try grilling it to see if it caramelises, or mix it with pancake batter and fry it, using that one cal spray thing. Perhaps it could go in a cake. I wonder what other herbs and spices would make it taste more interesting? Cocoa powder? chilli powder?

Hot puds are more filling somehow.

Grapefruit's meant to be really good for lowering cholesterol so it's worth experimenting.

The mandarins will be easier to make palatable.

Grilled grapefruit is delicious I put cinnamon/ginger/nutmeg on mine. Totally changes the grapefruit.
