Daily Diary Saturday 21st October

Hello Daily Diarists!

Apologies for the late arrival of this diary – I nearly forgot!

Welcome to anyone posting for the first time, just look at what the others do and follow suit. And do please comment/ask questions or just “like” what others have written. That way we all learn something.

Well, what have you planned to eat and drink on Saturday 21st October?

I haven’t planned my menus yet – I was looking for the diary to get some ideas when I realised it was my turn!! Aargh!

So here we are anyway. I will post my menu later, when I have decided what we are having tomorrow!

Tell us what your calorie intake should be and the total calories that each meal contains, what exercise you have planned and if you have a tip to share, please do share it!

My tip for the day (yes, I’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating!) – Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in, day out.

Hoping you feel more inspired this morning Villageduckpond If you can get over here early enough, it's bacon sarnies for brekky :)

Am I too late?

Tiggerr in reply toVillageduckpond

Never. I've sometimes posted mid-morning. If it helps you stay focused then that's all that matters.

For the sarnies I mean :)

I shall survive .....(singing song)

Oh dear, hope you can find some inspiration VDP!

Well tomorrow I plan to have porridge with banana, pecans and chia for breakfast, 333cals.

Lunch is cauliflower cheese soup, full fat yogurt, 352 cals.

Dinner is Hairy Dieters bolognaise, 350 cals, no spaghetti, but a side salad. Fruit salad and Greek yogurt, total 565.

Snack is a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, 90 cals.

Day’s total 1346 cals, a bit over my 1200 target, but we are having a morning working in the community garden, so hopefully I can allow myself to go over!

Happy weekend everyone. Be good! (By the way, today’s fish and chips, all calorie counted, were delicious! A real treat!)

Hi trimmerteacher and thanks for hosting. This weekend we have family staying and a party, then on Monday we're off on holiday. So tomorrow I'll have porridge for breakfast but then it will be a 3 course meal with wine, taking me well over my target. I'll try and keep my portion sizes moderate and just have one glass of wine, but I will be enjoying everything. On holiday I will enjoy all the meals, but will try and be aware of what I'm eating, avoid snacks and carbs where possible. Hopefully I won't undo all my hard work. I've been really pleased with my progress so far, so( holidays excepted) I hope to continue with a gradual loss. I won't be posting for about 10 days, but hope everyone has a good week and look forward to getting back to the daily diary after next week

Tiggerr in reply torutheliza

I think that because you've posted your intentions here, that you'll be more likely to manage those portions that you mention. At the same time you've got to enjoy yourself... what a tightrope we walk ;)

Enjoy your holiday rutheliza

Brilliant....never been but on my list!

in reply torutheliza

rutheliza I was given a good tip for holidays - make sure if you do go over, or have that pudding or cake, that it was really, really worth go8ng over the limit for. 😛 Have a great holiday! 😎

rutheliza in reply to

that's a good tip, I'll remember that.. I think I'm getting better at that, the planning ahead helps. All my excess calories used to come from little snacks I'd just shovel in quickly as I was passing, rather than food I'd sit down and enjoy

Thank you for hosting trimmerteacher . my plan for tomorrow I am having

Breakfast scrambled eggs on toast and coffee.300 calories.

Lunch Home made tomato soup. roll strawberries and yogurt. 450 calories.

Dinner Fish fingers jacket potato and baked beans. 500 calories. I will have a banana as a snack 100 calories and skimmed milk in my coffee. 70 calories. adding up to 1420 calories for the day. Hope everyone has a good day with deciding what they are eating over the weekend and have a good weekend.

Tiggerr in reply to

Tasty menu. I haven't had fish fingers for ages. I think I'll try and make my own ones this week and see how they turn out.

Have a good w/e too.

D: Spag bol with parmesan cheese & a side salad. (800 cals). Slice of wholemeal seeded, butter and homemade greengage jam (if I have spare cals).

Snacks: Apples & satsumas

Drinks : Tom juice & worcestershire sauce, chai latte, coffees, diet tonic & angostura and water

Total cals: WILL come in at 1900 or thereabouts.

in reply toTiggerr

Oh yum, that sounds a delicious menu, Tiggerr ! Can you tell us more about the aubergine and coconut curry?

Thanks and sure can. Posted this earlier in the week and have been living off them (off and on) through the week.

Thank you for hosting Hidden :)

Feeling a bit more inspired so here goes:-

B - bacon and scrambled egg, coffee

L - lentil soup a la MrNiceGuy (despite the fact he is from Newcastle and my mother was from Sunderland - hehe), green salad and yoghurt

S - remains of chilli con carne with green vegetable and a potato from garden.

Plenty of water even more so as still shaking off reaction to 'flu jab

Snacks - fruit

Exercise - walking to local shops

Incidentally talking about snacks I tried a Bounce (as a treat after weigh-in on Thursday) and for the price (£1.99) found it disappointing.

in reply toVillageduckpond

Another absolutely delicious sounding day! I’m coming over, Villageduckpond 😂.

Hello, I haven't posted on the daily diary before but thought I would give it a go!

I usually aim for about 1700 calls a day but I'm not too strict if it's a bit over or under, not too sure what exercise I will be doing - probably long dog walk!

My food plan for today is

Breakfast: porridge, whole milk, banana.

Lunch: seeded ciabatta roll, loads of salad , 1/2 avocado, slice ham. Yogurt. Apple

Dinner: sweet potato, spinach and chickpea curry and rice. Tin fruit and carnation cream for pud (if I have enough calories left).

Hope everyone has a good day xx

in reply toDizzykate

That sounds a very yummy day, Dizzykate ! Enjoy! I’ll join you on the dog walk 🐶

Hi like Dizzykate I have never posted on here before- I am a bit confused- are we to post what we are eating today (Saturday) or tomorrow (Sunday), I have noticed that those who have mentioned what they're eating tomorrow posted over 6hrs ago so I assume they are talking about today (Saturday). Can I have some clarity so I know which menu to post- I plan my meals for a week- from Monday to Sunday so I do one big shop.

Dizzykate profile image
Dizzykate in reply toRG07

I think it's for today, they usually put the post up the night before and then people just seem to post when they can, I think the idea is to help you focus and get a plan of what your eating and people can give advice if you need some guidance x

Villageduckpond profile image
Villageduckpond in reply toDizzykate

Well explained Dizzykate . Also, the date may be of help?

in reply toRG07

Hi RG07 .The Daily Diary is posted usually on an evening, to remind people to plan for the next day. (The date Saturday, 21st, is on today’s diary, which I posted last night.) If you aren’t sure what you are having the next day, you can be inspired by what others are having. Some people are writing their diary today, but that is for today’s menu still, not tomorrow. A new entry will appear tonight for tomorrow’s (Sunday’s) diary. Hope that clears it up!

As others have said RG07 the DD is for help planning our meals, rather than a confessional! 😂

Morning Hidden thanks for hosting. A good tip is always worth reiterating.

B - 2 large mushrooms baked with 5gms pine nuts and 26 gms feta sprinkled on the top -140 absolutely 😋

L - 2 scrambled eggs with avocado - 260

D - lasagne with aubergine instead of pasta - 400 ish

S - almond milk latte with yummy vanilla coffee -30

Still on my 800 a day fast and feeling good!

Ex - my ex bike arrived and I can plan international routes so will be cycling through Andalusia later!

Tip - find something to smile about at least once a day.

Have a super Saturday!

Morning wakywoo

Great menu for so few calories . . . Remind me again why you are sticking to 800 calories? It’s a very clever use of limited calories 😊

And cycling in Andalusia?? Wow!! Sounds fabulous! When and what time of year? We went in February a couple of years ago and the weather was perfect 😊 (Granada, Malaga, Seville and onto the Algarve, by bus not bike though!!)

Anna

Ps ignore the question about 800 calories, I’ve just seen your reply from yesterday about the Blood Sugar Diet. 😊 Good luck with it and keep us posted!

I had a very memorable cycle in Spain recently, the memory of it will sustain me on my exercise bike! Lol 😂

Loving the bike feature. Let me know if you go near the mountain village of Niguelas where we used to stay :)

Not sure I could go completely aubergine for a lasagne but half and half sounds doable for me.

Good morning Hidden and thank you for hosting 😊

I’ve had a really good two days and I’m pleased to have refused cake on two occasions and by increasing good fats and protein I’ve not been hungry.

Today I will eat :

Banana with full fat Greek yogurt, seeds and chopped nuts

St Agur with spinach in an omelette, 2 oatcakes. An apple.

Stuffed peppers for dinner (red pepper filled with beef chilli and grated cheese) an orange for dessert

Exercise is 30 minutes dog walk and 30 minutes Yoga.

I love your quote above. And it is very true. 😊

Onwards and downwards

Anna

in reply toIndigoBlue61

Yet another delicous menu today! Sounds gorgeous IndigoBlue61 . I could eat any and all of that! And well done on refusing cake. Get that halo polished!

in reply toIndigoBlue61

Gorgeous menu!

It's amazing how easy it is to fall out of a new habit! I missed doing my DD on Monday, then didn't return all week. I've been tracking on MFP still though.

B - scrambled eggs on sourdough toast, 358

L - red lentil and chickpea soup, apple and cheese, 353

D - lamb meatballs in tomato sauce with parmesan and courgetti, 513

1224, I'm aiming for around 1700. Likely to have almonds and Green and Blacks for around 250, not sure what else yet.

wakywoo profile image
wakywoo in reply to

Oooh all sounds very good Hidden

in reply to

Too true Hidden . Even if I fill it in on MFP, if I don’t put it on the DD, I somehow don’t feel so committed!

ShadowDee profile image
ShadowDee

Thanks for hosting Hidden . I don't know why but I struggle trying to find the daily diary.

So I'm a bit late but here it is for today.

Breakfast- gluten free oatmeal w/coconut milk coffee 255

Lunch - baked potato w/tuna salad 302

Dinner - spaghetti and meatballs 652

Snacks- banana, oranges and apple 197

May add a flap jack and boost my calories up a bit

Workout with weights at home. Storm Brian is having us stay home.

in reply toShadowDee

That sounds a great menu, ShadowDee . Varied and tasty! Enjoy 😛

Are you using the App ShadowDee ? And are you on a mobile phone or a laptop/ipad?

The App doesn’t allow you to see all the different options I’m afraid, so you just have to scroll down through posts until you find what you want.

On a mobile the events are on the home screen still, but at the very end, after you have scrolled through all the posts 😊

Hope this helps

Hi IndigoBlue61 im not on an app. I vary at time. I'm either on my phone, iPad at night, pc during week days. I usually scroll down until I find something on my iPad.
