Hello
Hi dawnie149 and welcome to the weight loss forum.
I can understand you feeling overwhelmed but you have now taken the first step in reducing it so please try not to worry about it. If you mean you are having porblems adding it to the weekly plan sheets on the nhs 12 week plan then you need to print them off first.
You are invited to join our Newbie Club, where you can meet other new members who are just beginning their weigh loss journeys too. Here's the link for all the information you will need to find your way around the forum:

Good luck with your first week.
Hi Dawnie149, you have made a wonderful start by joining the forum - getting support is one of the most important keys to the weight loss puzzle!
My advice would be not to focus on the numbers too much... Like on how much weight you have to lose (or how much you have just lost, because it can fluctuate). Or on counting calories too obsessively - because how quickly one person burns calories will be different from the next person.
Instead, focus your efforts on things you CAN control, like making healthy choices, eating fresh whole foods, eating sensible portions and slowly, sleeping well, drinking plenty of water, relaxing properly and moving your body as much and as often as you can, by doing things you enjoy.
Building a happy, healthy, enjoyable lifestyle is the only way to lose the weight and keep it off for good.
So, heres wishing you all the very best as you set off on your journey : )
Ahh, put that big ol' burden down - this isn't a battle but a new adventure! Treat your body with loads of those fresh healthy nutrients it is craving so that it can work at its best and be gentle with yourself. Remember the mind can play tricks on us - so play tricks on it back - like keep a bowl of fruit on the table in full view and keep all junk food out of sight and out of mind, or like serving your food on a smaller plate than normal (the food will look bigger)... Best of luck...
Hi dawnie149 don't think about the number you have to get to. Just pick a goal of say 3lbs at a time. I am doing it that way and it doesn't seem so daunting. I started to do it this way before I found this group and once I got my BMI measurement and calorie range I had a starting point.
Good luck.x
To get to a healthy BMI, I need to lose a total of at least 9 stone!!! But I'm not focused on that - I set myself smaller half stone goals and have lost three and a half stone so far. For me, half a stone is an achievable target and each time I hit it, I feel good about myself - something I'd not felt in a long time.
Don't get discouraged by the big numbers, set yourself smaller goals and treat yourself to something non-food related when you get there. I'm off to a craft event today 😀
Good luck, you can do it!! 👍
