Like many of you out there, I have just come back from a McMillan Coffee morning organised in our village to raise funds for a worthy cause. I went there knowing I would eat cake, but was relatively controlled I am pleased to say. I had just a small slice of a ginger tea loaf, and a slither of a caramel slice. I donated sufficient funds to take some cake home for my partner, and donated a Chocolate Banana Date Cake which was more than half gone when I left, so feel I have done my bit!
Well done to any of you who went to your own local Coffee Morning and were suitably restrained in your choices!

Hi DD. I too got caught by a Mac coffee morning. I handed over a donation and took a slice of cake to carry home for Himself. Smug or what! BUT. I am meeting friends for a cream tea later...
Well done! Sounds like your new habits are settling in nicely.
I only avoided the coffee mornings here at work because I was working from home on Tuesday and the one on Wednesday was on the 4th floor and I was way too lazy to bother going up one floor!
Had to make a cake for my husband to take to work for their cake competition. He is judging it so I know I won't be winning, but it is the taking part that is important.
