Fed up feeling (and looking) overweight! I am fairly active, I eat healthily, I enjoy cooking, I enjoy baking but not at the moment as just looking is putting on weight! I have a thyroid problem for which I take thyroxine and have had my bloods checked. I have been going through the menopause, the weight gain is awful!!! Do you think the 12 week plan will work for me?
Welcome Sarah-M, you have come to the right place for support. Lots of people here have used the 12 week plan and it has worked very well for very many people.
Come and join our Newbie Club, which is a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. Just post a few words on the September Newbie Club thread to introduce yourself and respond to others there you will soon feel part of the club.
Hi and welcome Hidden , you have definitely come to the right place. Wishing you well with your weight loss journey
Hi and welcome to the forum Hidden You sound like me (well with the exception of the fairly active bit ) I am losing weight on the 12 week plan so i would suggest you give it a good go
It took me a wee while to work out the calorie counting bit but once I got my head round it and set up a spreadsheet of my favourite foods and recipes it made it so much easier
Have a good read of the Newbie Club info that Ceals has pointed you too
Hi I'm also a newbie and menopausal .... struggling to keep the weight off too! I'm trying hard to change my eating pattern but still craving anything sweet and stodgy!
Not sure yet, but I will check, thanks.
Thank you all for your support. It's going to take a bit getting used to but I think at the moment, I'll be so busy counting, it may stop me eating! Still trying to find my way round the site. Haven't quite found the weigh in bit yet
Hi Hidden welcome to the forum, have you worked out how many calories you should be eating on the NHS bmi calculator to be able to lose weight. Before I joined I wasn't aware how many I should eat or how many in general I was eating. It turned out I should have been eating between 1400ish to 1800ish to be able to lose weight safely. I can't remember exact amounts. But I was only eating around 1000cals a day and this was my problem. If you don't eat enough Cals a day your body thinks your starving it and turns what you do eat into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops you from losing weight and sometimes puts weight on instead. Please don't make this same mistake as well and good luck with your journey.
