What do you all do when hunger pangs strike and you really don't want to start snacking? really trying to keep within my allotted calories a day but have started to feel genuinely hungry, not just because I fancy eating something but when your stomach is actually rumbling for food?

Try filling up on liquid; fruit teas, a cup-a-soup, or if calories allow - a comforting mug of hot chocolate?

If you need to graze, a mix of pumpkin seeds, dried fruit and maybe just a few nuts can keep you chomping happily....but count those calories in. Also, a spoonful of cereal or granola eaten slowly with some raisins can stop you reaching for the more sugary biscuits.

Others like frozen grapes, or some pickled veg....whatever you are partial to.

Forward planning - that is the key!

Morning Eve60

Try drinking more water during the day to keep it at bay. Have you checked your calorie allowance, if not check it using the BMI checker in the newbie post to ensure your having enough calories.

Have a look at the Daily Diary to see how others are planning there day to see if there is any tips you can pick up there.

Have a good day. :)

Cup of hot water, squeeze of lemon juice is good in it.

Not always possible if you are at work etc. but strangely I find I feel less hungry when actually exercising so when I get very hungry I try to pick that time to do a quick walk or bike.

Try keeping some boiled eggs in our fridge, they are filling or have some almonds - just make sure you weigh and add the calories. Celery sticks with peanut butter spread up the middle is really nice and filling too.

it happened to me a few times this week. not acctual stomach rumbling but hunger. i think i can contribute it in one part on eating to much carbs (lower quantities of food and glicemic index) on other part maybe on not enough liquids and maybe even pms :) in my case it can also be because my body is adjusting to lower intake of food as i am just at the beginning of my journey.. i hope you manage to find a suitable solution for you
