Hello, I am just starting my 12 week plan, I'm about half way through week one and so far so good!
I have been trying to lose weight for the last year and I have tried several different methods and even gone through the doctors several times and I haven't lost a single pound!
I am awaiting an appointment from the dietician but 8 weeks later I am still waiting so I have decided to act myself.
I am currently sitting at 15stone 11pounds, the heaviest I have ever been.
I used to have an active job but I now work in an office, where cake and food vans are a constant temptation!
I am getting married in April next year and I would like to feel good about myself and feel beautiful in the dress.
Anyway, enough babbling, basically here I am, giving it one more go.

well done for coming to join us! You've taken the right idea and just gotten up and done something bout it yourself, that's great! You should join a weigh in day, I will be on tomorrows although if you're already half way through your week you maybe want to weigh on a monday/tuesday? Regardless of where you go, they'll be happy to see you.
an administrator will be along at some point to show you the ropes of how to get the best from the forum. Only things I will say is, keep active in the forum, join a weigh in, and ask for help when you need it. The very best of luck on your journey! You can do it!💪
I don't know where to find the weigh in days? I've tried to find them but I'm on the app so maybe they are hiding?
Congrats on the upcoming wedding. You'll be beautiful no matter what weight!!!
Hi and welcome
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI (can be found in the pinned Newbie post) to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for 😊
Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate 😊
To the right of the HOME page (bottom on a mobile), you'll find Events. In there, you'll find links to our daily Weigh-in's (you will choose just one day per week), our Daily Diary, where we post our menu and exercise plans, for accountability, advice and support - which is great to get ideas of what other people are eating and I have to confess to nicking some of their menu's and our “What's happening today” thread, where we pop in for a chat.
Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too 😊
I always struggled when I joined here to be able to lose weight and found out on here not long after I started that the reason I was not losing weight properly and often putting weight on was because I was never eating enough calories. This was because I was only eating around 1000cals a day and I should have had 2000cals a day. I was told to look up on the NHS bmi calculator how many calories a day I should eat to be able to lose weight as this gives us personal amounts and not just average and make sure I eat at least this amount and not any less as by not eating enough calories your body thinks your starving it and turns what you do eat into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops you from losing weight and sometimes means you put weight on instead. Please don't make this same mistake. I have now lost 2 1/2st just be eating the extra calories I should. Good luck with your journey.
