I feel a bit guilty posting here as my weight it not a problem yet. However, it has been gradually going up over the last few months so I decided to do something before it became a problem.
My diet is whole foods plant based with fish generally. Lots of fruit and veg, lots of whole grains, very little processed food. I also do quite a lot of exercise.
I took a critical look at my diet and realised I still had some bad habits - processed high fat energy bars, cans of coke and no breakfast being the worst.
Over the last 5 weeks I have cut out all the bad things and introduced breakfast. I have also increased the amount of exercise I do. However, my weight gain now appears to have accelerated!
I'm not pregnant, already follow a dairy free diet and have recently had my thyroid checked and it was fine.
Any ideas?

Suggestions, not looking for you to answer me, but maybe consider...
Have you spoken to your GP or a health professional? Have you changed any meds you take? Are you gaining muscle as opposed to fat which will be heavier? Are you retaining water? Is your age appropriate to changes in your cycle? Is your cycle as normal as it usually is for you?
I am not a health professional - but these are questions I would consider after the thyroid and pregnancy questions which you've already covered.
I hope you find the reason for the gain, and you are wise to want to nip it in the bud.. Its easier to shift a few pounds rather than any stones!
Wishing you well, and I hope you shift it to be comfortable for you.
Cheering you on 🎉🎉🎉
Seems like you are on the right track. It's good to catch it early. I have thirty pounds to lose now because I ignored the problem. Just take the advice from those who have lost and you will be fine. Good luck to you!
Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.
Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.
Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.
Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

It sounds like your diet is very healthy, but if you are consuming more calories than you're burning you will gain weight however healthy your food is. If you've suddenly increased your exercise your body will retain extra water to assist with muscle repair so this can cause a few pounds weight ( but not fat) increase. I'd suggest keeping a food diary and seeing how many calories you're actually eating then compare that to what the online NHS BMI calculator suggests you eat (it doesn't allow for very high levels of activity but is a good starting point) there are other online calculators which can work out your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) which is the number of calories you use to sustain daily life plus what you use exercising. Sorry don't know any to recommend but I know other people find these useful. Also allow another week or two for your body to adjust to new levels of exercise.
If it turns out you're continuing to gain weight despite eating correct calories to lose or maintain then a visit to the doctor would be useful.
Regarding the breakfast, there is no rule to say you have to eat early in the day, lots of people don't. If not having breakfast leaves you hungry and lacking in energy and likely to grab an unhealthy snack then it's a good idea to eat it. If you are forcing down an extra meal when you don't feel hungry then it's not helping and you can always pack a healthy snack for mid morning if that would suit you better.
