Hi everyone, my name is Tina. I've been on and off dieting with slimming world and other types of diets for the past 2 years.. and every time I lose the weight it then slowly creeps back on!! I'm planning on starting the NHS12 week diet plan to hopefully just to lose as much as I can. I have more of a goal this time as I'm getting married next June! I have my dress sorted but need to lose around a stone for a perfect fit.
Please can I have some advise on how others stick to the plan and tips on what's the best things to eat & exercise.
Thanks
X

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the NHS BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
To the right of the HOME page (bottom on a mobile), you'll find Events. In there, you'll find links to our daily Weigh-in's (you will choose just one day per week), our Daily Diary, where we post our menu and exercise plans, for accountability, advice and support and our “What's happening today” thread, where we pop in for a chat.

Hi Tina. They say great minds think alike and as you and I have joined today, we must both be pretty great!?! Wow, a wedding and your dress organised. I think that you are going to do really well. You sound like a woman with a plan and the motivation to succeed. I've had a look at the web site and was pleasantly surprised to find that the calorie calculator is so specific, helpful and supermarket brand related. My BMI was a bit of a shock/difficult to face but hey ho. We are where we are and I know what I have to do now. I too have done slimming world/weight watchers, paid them so much money over the years and it's never stuck. And they both made it really difficult to access the calorific values of things, without buying something from them first; A calculator or a book. I couldn't stand the ritual humiliation or 'name and shame' part of the SW meetings but appreciated the support of others in the same situation, I'm hoping that this forum will be of great help.
Hi tinag1994 you can easily lose a stone by next year. You have lots of time to do it nice and slowly. It will also give you time to develop new eating habits that are sustainable. Good luck and jump straight in.
