Are cheat days needed? Will there be any effect?

As i stated previously I began to diet on saturday 1st July and I am asking to see if cheat days are okay? and whether you can strat them as early as my diet? I adapt to food easily and don't crave any sort of food so a diet is straight forward for me, but I would liek to be able to not think about it for a day. If so, what would be the matters on the kcal of the cheat day and would it mean more exercise because of it?

I have the occassional days when i eat more than my calorific allowance but I make sure I am still below the upper calorie range, or have a treat but include it as part of my allowance. hope that helps

If you want to lose weight may I ask why you feel the need to have cheat days? I don't have cheat days and don't really see the point to them if I'm are trying to lose weight. So I suppose it depends on you and what your looking for out of your plan.

Very good point Hidden I eat more some days than others, and include all my favourite foods into my plan.

I don't have planned 'cheat' days -but occasionally I slip .That's why I can't wait a week to weigh - as when I have in the past ,I've deliberately celebrated with a cheat on weigh-in days thinking I have more time to put it right . Hard though -very hard sometimes .Good luck ,however you choose to operate your weight-loss programme .One thing's for sure -you have to find a way that suits YOU!

Hi MasNoreg I would suggest that you consider your menu ahead of time, maybe join in with the daily diary to be accountable to yourself and that way you won't have to think about what you can eat as it's already planned.

But at the end of the day, it's your weight loss programme and how you work it and how long it takes is up to you, if you try a cheat day.. see how it effects your progress that week and either keep it or adjust it till you find what works for you. Stick to your current plan for 2 to 4 weeks so you know what your comparing it to?

Cheering you on to your goals 🎉🎉🎉

I don't have cheat days but have slipped three times in a month so far. It always takes several days to get back where I was because of carbs or sodium and it gets me discouraged. I would not have a cheat day planned. You may slow down the process

I don't have cheat days, but I do average my calories over a week, rather than strictly by day. Then its really easy to incorporate weekends away, visitors, etc. Just write it all down, whether its a 'by the book' kind of a day, or not, average it out and make sure its on target.
