Hiya, I am 35, very active, I cycle everywhere, do lots of classes, aerobic and strength, I eat well 80% of the time and I have ibs. I am 5ft 5 and I am currently 12 stone, I have a lot of fat around my tummy area and I just cannot shift it. I have tried lots of different approaches, I gave up sugar, bad fat and tried eating only good fats with good carbs and protein. I am feeling very disheartened and do not no what else to do, with the ibs I cannot eat bread, cabbage, onion, garlic and probably lots of other foods but those are the worst. Please help me

Hi sofiab
You're doing great.
I've found that old fashioned calorie counting is quite eye opening. I followed the lean in 15 books religiously for weeks and no change until I looked into the portions. I was just eating too much.
Hi sofiab! You seem to be doing all the right things as has been pointed out. I might just add that maybe you should watch your portions. Eating smaller portions of food 5 to 6 times a day rather than one massive portion at a go has been known to be better for weightloss. I wish you the very best
Hi there have you checked how many calories you should be having in a day to be able to lose weight and how many you are actually having. When I first joined I wasn't ever shifting any weight and found that I wasn't eating enough. I was only eating around 1000cals a day and I should have been having a lot more. You can check this out by using the NHS bmi calculator and this gives you amounts to have between for losing weight. The problem is if you don't eat enough your body thinks you are starving it and turns what you do eat into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops you from losing weight and sometimes putting weight on instead. Since I have upped my calories I have lost 2st. The NHS bmi calculator is the best for personal calorie amounts as the others tend to give same amounts for everyone. Please don't make this same mistake. Good luck with your journey.
