I'm feeling hungry again but have no desire to fill myself up on plain brown rice or steamed vegetables. Instead I'd prefer pizza or takeout curry. So it's not really hunger that's the issue is it?

Well prob craving, have a teaspoon of peanut butter? Or a piece of toast
Have had tiny cube of cheese
probably not, its more likely the craving of the foods that you maybe haven't had in a while??
try some nuts or a yogurt? Some fruit or even a slice of toast with peanut butter or something if you're still within your calorie limits??
i wouldn't want to fill up on plain rice either, but your meals don't have to be boring if you haven't already....check out the daily diaries to see what others are making
good luck with your journey and just think of how much sugar is in a takeaway! Maybe have one once a month and calorie count it as best you can?
Strong flavours are definitely more satiating than plain ones Hidden 😊

I can totally see why neither of those options would appeal! And in response, my brain said, How about making a batch of caponata, the Sicilian aubergine dish? It sits happily in the fridge for days and has a wonderful flavour, and is a great side dish on summer nights. It is also great for a tablespoon or two when the munchies hit. One or two aubergines, an onion, a couple of sticks of celery, two or three courgettes, a tin/carton of chopped tomatoes and some garlic, stoned olives and capers if you have the inclination! The sweet and sour comes from the addition of a tbs of wine vinegar and 2 tsp of brown sugar. The amounts are rough and ready because it's that sort of dish, but if you would like a proper recipe, then have a look at this: canalcook.wordpress.com/201...
As you will see, there is no courgette in this recipe, but I add it because I like it! There is a lot less oil than is used in other recipes, which keeps the calorie count down.
Enjoy! Much more interesting than plain brown rice (with which you can eat it, or with pasta - it is very versatile). I like it as part of a mixed salad plate....
Sounds delicious - will certainly be making it! Thanks
