Hi and welcome pinkpanther100
As a yo-yo dieter for many years I can relate to your lose it, gain it regime, unfortunately it really doesn't do our bodies much good 😢
But don't worry you have found the best place for help, support and motivation.
Forget the diet and start healthy eating, making small changes that are sustainable, sugar swaps are great (change 4 life app) set yourself mini goals say (7lb loss, I went swimming, I had my 5 a day all week, I stuck within my calories) and reward yourself with non-food rewards (a lipstick, a book,) my fitness pal (free app) for calorie counting is easy to use.
Stay active on the forum it really does make a difference, join a challenge, weigh in, the daily diary is fantastic for help, support and ideas, ask questions, chat or just read the posts
Find an exercise you enjoy (I don't exercise but I walk, swim and cycle for fun)
Thank you. Great advice. Ye need people to keep me motivated so being on here hopefully will really help. My goal this week is to walk more instead of using the car and defenatly cut out the sugary pop, i drink diet but still, water will be my new best friend
I pop on here most evenings it stops me snacking 😯 and there's great advice too, that's a fantastic goal achieve it and reward yourself 😆 you can add sugar free squash or fresh fruit to your water if you're not a fan of plain water 😆 xx
Hi forget the word 'diet' and replace it with healthy eating. Many people think the only way to lose weight is to go on a strict diet and starve themselves. What happens then is your body thinks it is starving so holds on to calories lowering your metabolism in the process. This is why when you start eating normally again you put on even more weight.
welcome and good luck! This place is the bees knees 😀
it's true that you need people to motivate you, you will certainly get that here. Take it slowly and as suggested, take it bit by bit. For instance i wanted 7lb off by end may and have got that already which I'm so pleased about, now the next goal is another 7lb by end of June. use the charts if you're following the 12 wk plan and join in on the daily diary and a weigh in group. Do not be put off by writing your weight down either. It could be anything from 8stone to 30stone and everything in between (i shared the thought of everyone seeing my weight but at the end if the day it doesn't define you,its just a number!)
all the best! Any questions just post and you will have a reply within minutes!👍
Hi pinkpanther100 , You have certainly come to the right place to get all the help and support you could possibly want.
There are so many inspirational people on this site. I only started posting 3 weeks ago and I am totally hooked. Whenever I have time I am reading and/or posting on here. It keeps your hands busy too so less likely to pick at the same time lol.
Good luck

Hi pinkpanther100 and welcome to the forum, very supportive people here
We are all here because we either need to lose weight or have arrived at our weight (I wish the later was me ) and maintaining
Healthy eating is definitely the way to go as this will help us maintain when we eventually get there
Wishing you all the best on your journey and remember focus on small goals - this week i am aiming for 8000 steps each day and keeping in the middle of my calorie range and if I succeed I am hoping it will reward me with my 1 stone badge
Here's the link to the BMI calculator
nhs.uk/tools/pages/healthyw... put in your details and it tells you what range of calories you should eat daily - then as you lose weight re do this as the calorie range comes down - so try to eat in mid to high range the first week or so and you will be surprised - I ate at the lower end and didn't lose then went to mid to high end and actually lost 5lb
