Any fellow night owls out there? What's good to graze on overnight to beat the late night munchies? I've a terrible sweet tooth and im also not a fruity person.

If you type shift work into the search box, top right of your screen, Louise, you find dozens of similarly titled posts that will give you some ideas :)

To my way of thinking, grazing and the munchies are one and the same. If your waking hours just happen to be at night, couldn't you just eat the three meals you would normally eat through the day?

I used to have a sweet tooth too and had no off switch where sweet stuff was concerned. I cured it by cutting it from my diet. It has the effect of stopping the cravings, after a while and makes life a lot easier :)

I hope you find the answers you're looking for :)

I've taken to sunflower seeds for my mid shift munchies cravings. Because you have to nibble the seed out of it's shell a small pack lasts a long time. All that adds up to about 45 mins. worth of nibbling for about 50 calories of healthy seeds.

It's more to do with having something to nibble on for me and I can't stand gum.

Pumpkin seeds are also good to snack on if you need a nibble. Good for you too, as are sunflower seeds.

Shift worker but I tend not to be hungry on a night as leave just after my tea, have brekki about 0630 then home for lunch. Wasn't really hungry today so only just had lunch. When the boiler is working at night I like a fruit tea or light hot chocolate drink, I got a weighted hula hoop so if it's a quite shift then that comes out and I put some music on for a bit what ever helps keep awake when needed 😊

Like me. I have dinner before I go and breccy when I get back home. Shall give the fruit teas a try this eve, have got a box in my cupboard never thought to take any in with me. I find I get a low about 3-4am where I just fancy sweet stuff

My husband has worked nights for 4 years. He eats the same meals as me and the kids, but in a different order. He eats breakfast with us (he comes home when we're just up), he sleeps until 6pm then has a sandwich when he wakes up (like lunch) and I cook dinner for 6pm for me and the kids and he takes his with him to work and reheats it in the microwave at about 2am. So like moreless suggests, you eat the same amount, but at different times.

If I was working nights, I would not want to be cooking though, so maybe when you're off you could batch cook and freeze down and then just take out what you need, as you need it?

Not what you're looking for?
