Hello, I am 27, and my weight has yo-yo'd since I was 16 or so, and I am now at the point where I would like to take control, and get myself living a healthy lifestyle before I find it too hard to change.
I also had an accident a few years ago, and had surgery on my knee, so any extra weight I carry means more pain. It also makes it a little more difficult to exercise, but I do lots of cycling and hula-hooping!
I need to loose about 15kg, well, 11kg now. The next step for me is cutting wine, and upping the exercise! ( How does everyone find the motivation to actually do it? )
Well, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself

Sorry to hear about the knee, though like you say, it should help it if it has to carry less weight.
When I started my lifestyle change back on Jan 1 (I know, a cliched time to start), I didn't intend to do anything much about my alcohol intake except reduce it. I then found myself cutting out hard alcohol to allow myself more calories in the day to eat the food I like and then I ended up cutting out beer and wine because it used to sabotage my willpower in the evenings. So for me it was just a case of it seeming necessary in order to stay on track with the new life I was/am trying to carve out.
Exercise is a personal thing but I'd suggest sticking only to things that you enjoy and of course, what your knee can deal with.
I keep up the motivation through everyone's support and motivation on here. Whenever I have a bad day and I need support I put the info on here and I always get support and advice about making things better or finding a way out of the situation etc and it always boosts me and makes me feel better and I just continue. It really is great and helpful on here.
