Almost there
I am on the NHS 12 week weight loss plan which is calorie counting, so I don't class it as a diet since i'm eating the correct amount of calories! I plan my meals for the week- I like cooking so I do a mass cooking and divide the portions into 4 and freeze for when I need them so I am not cooking everyday. I also plan occasional treats and include them into my allowance, so I can have them guilt free. Its also important to include exercise- fast walking is simple to include in your day- getting off a few stops earlier on the bus, walk to the shops instead of getting car (as long as its not a big shop) when buying food. NHS Choices website has a link to LivingWell (or similar) and it has info about the 12 week plan, exercising etc and even if you don't use it it has useful tips on snacking, eating out, alcohol etc., which may give you tips.
One of the administrators will be in contact with you shortly- good luck with your weight loss and we are a friendly bunch on here- a couple of members are running challenges- exercise and weight loss, it maybe too late to join now- but you could ask- look at the pinned post section, if you need motivation
