Hello, I don't usually do anything like this but I'm feeling desperate at the minute, I really need to sort my weight out, I just can't get motivated, I hope this group will help!

I feel like I'm stuck in a cycle, I eat as comfort because I'm down about my weight and then put more weight on!

I know I need to get more active too but I keep make my excuses like I don't have time but sit for hours watching tv!

Hi Louise1101

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Have a good first week.

Rose

Hi Rose,

Thanks for such a nice welcome to the group!

I have the app and I don't seem to be able to find the pinned posts for some reason?

Hi Louise1101 and welcome. This group has certainly helped me - stick around and chat to us, and you will find that we are helpful. :)

The App is OK, but it lacks too much of the functionality of the main Forum for it to be as good as it should be. I do have the App, but find I need to use the main site for accessing a lot of information.

Sadly, it is not something the folks on here have any control over.

Hi Louise

Welcome to the forum. I too joined feeling the need to get motivated and found the group helped so much. Every is really positive and supportive. If you want to exercise then find something you enjoy, easier to stick to that way. But they do say it's 80% diet 20% exercise 💖

Hi Louise1101. I bought a Fitbit charge 2 and it has helped me to move from the couch. It buzzes my arm and asks me to take it for a walk if I've been inactive for too long! It makes you realise that you haven't moved and I've sometimes just got up and walked on the spot while still watching tv 😂😂. It puts your heartbeat back in to the fat burning zone so that's a good thing.
