Overweight and lacking energy

Hi all, just joined up and hoping to speak to like minded people... I've always been a bit overweight, until I had my first child (she is now 2) going back to work full time caused me huge anxiety and really worsened my post natal depression. I've taken comfort in eating high sugar foods and drinking wine. I've gained approximately 3stone in the last 18months. To try assist my mental health I quit my high stress full time job, and have taken a part time role in an easy job. I get to spend lots more time with my daughter but unfortunately my eating and drinking habits haven't changed... My BP is very high and under review with my gp. I need to focus on my well-being. Any help on my weight loss adventure would be very greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome,

You have already made the first step congratulations. It takes a lot to come forward and admit that we have a problem.

I am pretty new here too, just about to complete my 2nd week of the 12 week diet plan and the 2nd week of the couch to 5 km run challenge.

In the last 2 weeks I have found huge support from the people on this forum and have gained strength from their responses. They really have made this difficult task easier to bear.

Take a look at the material on the NHS 12 week weight loss program page and plan it out. I have learnt that it doesn't always go to plan but the most important thing is that we get support, we vent our frustrations but we don't quit. We get back up and continue this journey to a better, healthier and thinner lifestyle.

I wish you loads of luck on your journey
